This is a translation/summary for TYPE-MOON's Mahoutsukai no Hako - Starlit Marmalade Drama CD Volume 2. If you like this, I strongly encourage you to buy the CD for yourself, which you can do via Amazon.co.jp here. As usual, this translation is copyright 2024 by Heavens-Feel.com - feel free to link to it on your blog or site, but please don't host it there. This Drama CD, like old time radio dramas, relies on dialogue, sound effects, and music to build up atmosphere and tell a story. Audio dramas like this one continue to be useful as a medium for telling storylines from tv anime, manga, VNs, or videogames. I hope that you enjoy this summary of Mahoutsukai no Hako - Starlit Marmalade vol 2. If you like it, please consider making a donation to help the site continue running. Returning characters are listed here. As more get introduced in the story, they'll also be featured in this cast list. I use Japanese name order and retain Japanese honorifics in this text. Since Katsuragi Chidori and Katsuragi Chikagi have the same family name, Chidori will be listed as Chidori in the script text. If you see a line attributed to Katsuragi, it's for Chikagi, who is one of the main characters in this. You can navigate throughout this document by clicking on different tracks from the selection here. To completely understand the story, start on Track 1 of Disc 1 and continue on from there. The track that you're on will be indicated in boldface._______________________________________________________________________________ Cast of Characters:

Disc 2, Track 2 - Racing the Night 1 [SCENE: Sugata arrives and walks slowly and surely, her boots thudding against 0the ground, like a cowboy in a Western.] Sugata: This place is good enough. Why don't you show yourself? [Harriet appears out of the darkness and approaches.] Sugata: Just the runt? Where's the one who stinks of sacred treasures? Harriet: Don't treat me like an idiot! I don't need help defeating you! Sugata: Where do you get that confidence from? How many times have we done this, do you think? Harriet: You were here with no preparations, taking your time. You want this to be easy, but today is the day I kill you! (begins a spell) Tear her apart! Alraune! [The so-named autonomous parasite-type familiar begins to construct golems using soil as a base material. There is a variety of sounds as the ground is ripped apart to become building material for these golems - pavement cracking, wires whipping, roots snapping, the wind whistling as the soil flies through the air, etc. The newly formed golems gasp, wheeze, growl, etc.] Sugata: Ah, the curse of that unrefined Galgen-something or other. You used a parasite familiar as the core. That's how you formed these golems. It's the same pattern. Still, having this many here is a little . . . [the golems grunt and growl] Ah, it's fine. Twelve of them. I did tell you to stop, you know. When you compare her results to these badly formed lumps, Serena was 100 times more powerful. Harriet: The one you cleaned up after? That was the experimental model used to get combat data! Now you face the completed and perfected Galgen Mainleinn, modified for use on the battlefield! (she begins using magic again) Don't think you can fight this many and live! [The golems rush toward Sugata and roar in anger.] Sugata: She did make a whole bunch of them. But, behind the kid's bluster, I don't sense a lot of mana flowing. Which means . . . [she concentrates, her attention drawn to Harriet's ring] (to herself) It's that ring. She's wearing that like some toy. She probably had a bad education. (louder, to Harriet) Hey. You said you wanted to see your parents' faces, right? No matter where you go, you won't ever find them. In this world, anyway. Harriet: What are you talking about? You - your people killed my papa and mama! Sugata: Ah. So that's what this is about. You want to have revenge against the Church's people. But I am troubled that you'd associate me with them. Harriet: I still owe you for interfering with the experiments! I will have my revenge! Sugata: That right? [begins moving at high speed, breaking through golems] Harriet: Where'd you get that from? Sugata: [pulling out a store of weapons - automatic rifles, grenades, etc.] This time I'm fully stocked. Don't think you're leaving here alive! [MEANWHILE, IN A DIFFERENT AREA] Hibino: [Jumps to the top of a phone pole.] I know. It's ahead of here. [Her cell phone rings. She answers it.] Keitai: Hello! A worthy hello! It's me, Keitai-san. You're hearing this message at night, which means - most likely, that- Hibino: Please keep it brief. Keitai: Oh, yeah. Sorry. Have you sensed it? In that public park? It seems like the Executor has begun to battle. Hibino: Yes. Keitai: It's all right if you sit this out. And I would be troubled if you hurried over there. Hibino: Is that it? Hey, Keitai-san. Keitai: What? Hibino: You know all sorts of things, don't you? Keitai: (embarrassed) Cut that out! You're making me blush! It's not really like that! Hibino: So you know the things I don't even know about myself, right? Keitai: Hmm. I wonder. I want to tell you what I know though. Where you came from. What you are. But can the me of now tell you? Hibino: What's wrong? Keitai: The Bounded Field at the park. I sensed it before now. That flow of mana . . . it's in the opposite direction of the Church Executor. Not too far away from where you are. But, this feeling - it strangely concerns me. Hibino: Got it. I'll go. Keitai: Wait! I prefer shijimi clams! [Hibino ends the call.]
