 [Scene: Ryoo Gakuen. The sounds of students talking can be heard.]
 
 Konata: So as you see, I've come to understand the pressure to be a good older sister. 
 
 Kagami: You're saying incomprehensible stuff. 
 
 Konata: Maybe you can't understand because you're bad at doing chores. 
 
 Kagami: Zip it. 
 
 Tsukasa: Kona-chan. Is it because of Yu-chan?
 
 Konata: Well, yes. She's got a weak body, so I often find myself thinking about how I need to
 help her. 
 
 Patricia: Indeed! And as a little sister, she needs to call you oneesama. 
 
 Tsukasa: Hmm? Oh, Patricia-san. 
 
 Patricia: Hi. 
 
 Konata: What's up, Patty? This is the classroom for third years. 
 
 Patricia: I came to tell thee that Yutaka's physical condition hath declined. 
 
 Kagami: Patricia, sometimes you use odd Japanese. 
 
 Patricia: How lamentable. But recently I've gotten hooked on historical manga. 
 
 Konata: I loaned her one. We do have lessons on classical literature, so 
 it'll be great for her studies. 
 
 Kagami: Historical manga won't be useful for classic lit. 
 
 Patricia: That's too bad. But the manga itself is interesting, so I'm still okay
 with it. 
 
 Tsukasa: Umm . . . I think you should worry more about Yu-chan. 
 
 Konata: Oh, I forgot. 
 
 Kagami: It'll be impossible for you to be a good oneechan.

 Yutaka: (breathing heavily) I'm sorry to keep putting you through this. 
 
 Minami: No, it's no problem. It's only natural for me to worry if my friend 
 collapses. 

 Yutaka: Thank you. I'll be all right if I get some sleep. 

 Minami: Sure. But I'll stay here during lunch break.

 Konata: (loud) Excuse me! Is Yu-chan here?
 
 Minami: She's asleep. Can you be quieter? 
 
 Konata: Hey, my bad. 
 
 Patricia: (giggles) Minami's more like the oneesan. 
 
 Konata: Urgh. 
 
 Minami: Patricia-san. Even Izumi-sempai is worried about Yutaka. 
 
 Patricia: Sorry. 
 
 Konata: Well, I can stay with her. You two can head back. 
 
 Minami: I can't. I promised to be here during lunch break. 
 
 Patricia: I'll stay here too. 
 
 Konata: You guys . . . 
 
 Patricia: I have to stay here to look after Yutaka and get her to call 
 me oneesama.
 
 Konata: I was almost touched but then it got embarrassing. I'm determined to 
 get her to call me that.

 sister she is. 
 
 Minami: I don't know what you're trying to do, but I'm telling you to keep it down. 
 
 Konata x Patricia: (mortified) Sorry!

 Kuroi: (writing on blackboard with chalk) So there are lots of examples of culture in the
 modern era. 
 
 Konata: (yawns)
 
 Kuroi: We need someone to answer this . . . Izumi! (louder) Izumi!
 
 Konata: (jumps awake) I wasn't sleeping. (yawns) 
 
 Kuroi: I didn't say anything yet. Oh, you were sleeping. 
 
 Konata: (shrinks in embarrassment) 
 
 Kuroi: How about holding a bucket of water in the hallway?
 
 Konata: I'd like to pass on a punishment from the previous era. 
 
 Kuroi: Then get started with the lesson. 
 
 Konata: Yes, I'll get it all done with no mistakes!
 
 Kuroi: With no mistakes . . . then tell me! 
 
 Konata: (stumped)

 Konata: (yawns, stretches) 
 
 Kagami: What a lousy day. You seem really wiped out. 
 
 Konata: Lately the sun has seemed to rise earlier. 
 
 Miyuki: Is that so?
 
 Konata: I've been making bento with Yu-chan. 
 
 Kagami: You really are acting like a proper oneesan. 
 
 Konata: Hmm. Even though she's got a weak body, she really
 works hard. 
 
 Tsukasa: Now that you mention it, Iwasaki-san also looks like someone
 who works hard all the time. 
 
 Konata: Yes, nothing holds her back. Though it's a shame she's older. 
 
 Kagami: So does that mean that Tsukasa is having the hardest time of it?
 
 Tsukasa: (groans) 
 
 Konata: And yet Kagami can't do domestic chores! 
 
 Kagami: (groans)
