AS AN EXTRA, LET'S HIT THE STREETS
 
 [Scene: The city streets. Patricia is standing and waiting.]
 
 Patricia: Hmm. Hmm. Hmm! Konata is late!
 
 Yutaka: There she is! (Yutaka rushes over to Patricia.) Patricia-saaannn!
 
 Patricia: Yutaka?
 
 (Yutaka makes her way over to Patricia, but is winded because of anemia. )
 
 Yutaka: (gasping for breath) I'm sorry. I'm late. 
 
 Patricia: It's fine. But more importantly, what's up with Konata? 
 
 Yutaka: She caught a cold. I came here to let you know. 
 
 Yui: (walks over to them) You were supposed to go 
 shopping with her. 
 
 Patricia: Oh, is that what happened? Wow, even Yui came all the way out here. 
 She could have just called. 
 
 Yutaka: Konata-oneechan doesn't remember where she put her cell phone. 
 
 Patricia: Ouch!
 
 Yui: You were going shopping with Konata, right? Well, we'll go with you in
 her place. 
 
 Yutaka: Is that no good?
 
 Patricia: I'm okay with it but . . . we'll be going to buy anime goods and games. 
 Are you all right? 
 
 Yui: Yes! Let's wa go!
 
 Yutaka: I don't mind. I'm sure that I'll like whatever you or Konata-oneechan like. 
 
 Patricia: Okay then, let's head on out! For all day today, I'll give you an otaku experience!
 
 Yutaka: (nervous) Hold up, that's --- eeeee!
 
 [LATER]
 
 (The group is walking around the shopping district.)
 
 Patricia: By the way, how is Konata's cold? Is she doing okay? 
 
 Yui: Oh, she's fine. It's just a summer cold. 
 
 Yutaka: Though I have trouble recovering from those. 
 
 Yui: Remember what they say? Stupid people can't catch colds!
 
 Patricia: I get it. It fits that she was first in line. What a meaningful turn of phrase. 
 A kind of life medicine. 
 
 Yutaka: (thinking) No, that's not it. That's just wrong. 
 [Yutaka notices Minami and Miyuki walking on the sidewalk.]
 (aloud) Iwasaki-san!
 
 Patricia: Hello Minami. What a coincidence! 
 
 Minami: Why yes. It is. 
 
 Miyuki: Kobayakawa-san, Patricia-san, good afternoon. 
 Narumi-san, it has been a while. 
 
 Yui: Oh, you're one of Konata's pals! It certainly has been a while. I think I know you
 too - you helped out Yutaka, right? 
 
 Yutaka: Yeah!
 
 Minami: Oh, it wasn't anything big. 
 
 Yui: Don't be so modest. You carried her to the nurse's office and stayed with her. 
 You're awesome. I was really surprised. 
 
 Patricia: She's impressive. 
 
 Yutaka: Yeah! 
 
 Miyuki: Maybe that's a little oppressive, coming from a policewoman.
 
 Minami: Before we discuss this, perhaps there's something else we should
 focus on. 
 
 [LATER]
 
 Patricia: Are you and Miyuki here to buy anime goods? 
 
 Minami: No, I want a computer. There are a lot of people walking around here. 
 
 Miyuki: There are tons of monitors set up. What are those for?
 
 Patricia: Those are demo movies for games and commercials for anime. They
 also have test spaces set up for people to try out games. 
 
 Yui: This is the first time I've seen something like this. Hmm?
 
 [Someone is playing a game nearby. The sound of Mario being hit and
 losing a powerup can be heard.]
 
 Kuroi: Dang it! I lost! (ragequits) 
 
 Patricia: Wow. I've seen that person somewhere before. 
 
 Minami: She's Miyuki-san's homeroom teacher. 
 
 Yutaka: (laughs nervously) 
 
 Yui: Hey! Kuroi-san! 
 
 Kuroi: Oh hey! If it isn't Narumi-san! It looks like you got dragged
 along. 
 
 Yui: Yeah, today I'm acting kinda like a homeroom teacher. 
 
 Kuroi: Ah. Oh. I don't see Izumi with you. 
 
 Patricia: Even though she's dumb, she caught a cold. 
 
 Kuroi: Oh. That's a shame. (whispered) And her friend called her dumb. 
 
 Patricia: But is that shocking? 
 
 Kuroi: Well, I'm just here to kill time. I thought I might try out a STG. 
 But I can't seem to win lately. I'm getting shot up. 
 
 Patricia: Those types of games are getting rarer these days. 
 
 Kuroi: (unhappy) Yeah. That's right. (laughs) (thinks) Her innocence
 is starting to make me mad. 
 
 [LATER]
 
 Konata: (coughs) I see. You met up with everybody. (coughs)
 
 Yutaka: That's right. Are you all right?
 
 Konata: I'll pull through. I was worried I'd done something bad to Patty. 
 (coughs) It sounds like she had fun anyway. Good. 
 
 Yutaka: And then later on, they had something like a Road Live. 
 Patricia-san was really pumped. 
 
 Konata: Road Live!? 
 
 Yutaka: That's right. Patricia explained that it had some personalities or
 people singing about anime stuff. 
 
 Konata: Who!? Do you remember who it was? 
 
 Yutaka: Oh, let's see. Kogami Akira, I think. 
 
 Konata: Dang iiiiitttt (coughs and hacks) I didn't hear anything about a 
 secret event! 
 
 Yutaka: That's how it was. 
 
 Konata: If I had known that was gonna happen, I would have dragged myself
 out of bed to see it! I missed my chance to see Akira live!
 
 Yutaka: Live . . . 
 
 Konata: Craaaaaaap!
