 Konata: Kagami! Tsukasa! We're here! 
 
 Kagami: Wha-!? Konata! Why are you here!?
 
 Konata: (strange tone) We're here to see your Miku outfits. 
 
 Kagami: I didn't think she'd actually come here! But this isn't
 cosplay. It's work! 
 
 Konata: Yeah, yeah. I get it. 
 
 Kagami: She has all that free time. But in any case, congratulations on
 the new year. 
 
 Tsukasa: Congratulations on the new year, Kona-chan. Please regard me 
 favorably during this year as well. 
 
 Konata: Sure, grats on the new year. 
 
 Yui: You have to really look after my Yutaka! 
 
 Yutaka: Oneechan . . . 
 
 Miyuki: Congratulations on the new year, Narumi-san and . . . who is that 
 girl?
 
 Yutaka: I'm glad to meet you. I'm Kobayakawa Yutaka.

 Konata: Yui-neesan and Yutaka did though. But, as for me . . . 
 I have to guide someone to something. We are supposed to

 Kagami: It's unusual for you to do that. 
 
 Konata: Yeah. 
 
 Kagami: (smug) Is this about a boy?

 Kagami: (laughs) Of course! 
 
 Tsukasa: Oneechan, don't say that. 
 
 Kagami: Or is it a gaijin doing some international exchange? You came with
 someone who wanted to understand Japanese culture by doing hatsumode
 together?

 Kagami: Oh my gosh, it really is a gaijin. Why is this suddenly international 
 exchange!?

 Pat: Oh, are these miko outfits? Fantastic! Good choice, Konata!
 You set up an ofukai (offline meetup) with these two cosplaying for 
 the New Year!
 
 Tsukasa: Cos-? Offline meetup?
  
 Pat: I've come in response to your gracious invitation. I'm Patricia. 
 I'm one of Konata's otaku friends. 
 
 Konata: We're friends. Miku outfit moe! 
 
 Pat: Moe! 
 
 Kagami: (horrified) Konata!

 Konata: I'll be going to a Kogami Akira New Year live event with 
 Patricia tonight. Wanna come with? 
 
 Tsukasa: Kogami Akira?
 
 Kagami: I think I heard that name before. Is she an idol?
 
 Konata: Nah, she's big when it comes to anime-

 Miyuki: It's not worth making a fuss over.

 Miyuki: This is someone who lives in my neighborhood. She is 
 Minami.

 Minami: Hello. I'm Iwasaki Minami. 
 
 Tsukasa: Good afternoon. 
 
 Kagami: Pleased to meet you. Happy new year. 
 
 Minami: Congratulations. 
 
 Miyuki: Minami-san had to take an examination at Ryoo, so she ended
 up coming here for hatsumode. 
 
 Kagami: Oh. (quiet voice) Earlier there was someone else here for the same
 reason. 
 
 Miyuki: Yes?
 
 Kagami: Nevermind! We're glad to welcome one of Miyuki's friends! 
 
 Minami: Thank you. 
 
 Tsukasa: Oh, that's right. Konata's cousin was accepted at Ryoo. 
 Maybe you'll become friends with her. 
 
 Miyuki: Oh, is that so? That would be nice. 
 
 Minami: Thank you very much. 
 
 Kagami: She's a quiet girl, isn't she? I can't see her as a person entering
