This is a translation/summary for the Lucky Star Drama CD - Summer, ComiFes, Lucky Star.
If you enjoy this, I strongly encourage you to buy the CD for yourself, which you can do
via Amazon.co.jp here.

I have long been a fan of Matsuki Miyu and her work. One of the main points of focus
for this site is TYPE-MOON and their projects. Matsuki Miyu provided the voice of Hisui (Melty Blood)
and Sapphire (Fate Kaleid Prisma Illya), and her passing has affected us all deeply. I want to translate
something she's done that hasn't received much attention in the west. This will serve as a tribute
to her and as something I can give back to her fans.

As usual: this translation is copyright 2015 by heavens-feel.com .
Feel free to link to it on your site, but don't host it there.
If you look down, you'll see an embedded youtube video and a script for it underneath
the video. To use this translation, start the youtube video and then use the scroll bar
on the right of the script to scroll down as necessary. As more parts of the cd are
translated, different links will open to the other sections. If you want to see other
translations, there's a link at the bottom you can click on to see the main
section for those.

I keep in honorifics and use Japanese name order in my work. From what I can tell
so far, this story exists outside of the Lucky Star "Prime Universe" timeline seen in
the anime. It can't have happened there because Tsukasa would have remembered
going to one of these kinds of events and how . . . unique some aspects of
them really are.

IT'S SUMMER! IT'S THE COMIC FESTIVAL! IT'S LUCKY STAR!

 [Sound: Waves hitting the beach.]

Kagami: This weather is great. It feels like it'll be hot today.

Tsukasa: Hey, oneechan. Where will Kona-chan take us today?

Kagami: Don't know. And on top of that, she got us out here at a really
 early hour.

Konata (in the distance): Hey Tsukasa! Kagami!

[Tsukasa and Kagami run over to her. A parked train releases a gush of
 steam.]

 Tsukasa: We're here. Good morning!

Station Staff: The train on line two will leave shortly.

Konata: Hurry up! This is our chance, so let's use this fast
 train to get there!

Kagami: Just a sec. Before we go, tell us what we're doing!

Konata: I'll tell you when we get there. (laughs)

Kagami: Wait! I - I've got a bad feeling on this one.

(Konata drags Kagami into the train while the others
board it. The train doors close.)

Konata: Then it's time for us to go to the biggest event
of the summer! I'll guide you there, Hiiragi Sisters!

Kagami: (very nervous) I'm going home! Let me go hooooome!

 Konata: It's too late!

 [LUCKY STAR!]

 Konata: (stretches) We're here!

Kagami: What's with all of these people?

Tsukasa: Kona-chan, this is amazing. What is this?

Konata: Yes! The biggest buy/sell market for doujinshi in the
summertime, Comic Festival! Or in short, Natsucomi.

Kagami: Oh, I see. Well, I'll go home now. Come on Tsukasa.

 Tsukasa: Hmm?

Konata: Wait. Since you came all this way, help me out.

Kagami: No way! First off, what's with the huge crowd!?
What'll happen if we go with them in this heat!?

[The crowd begins to move quickly.]

Tsukasa: Umm, please don't push [people collide with her]

Konata: I'll give you some countermeasures for the heat.
And I'll reward you for it.

Kagami: Oh dang it. What do we have to do?

Konata: That's Kagami for you. Sharp as always. In any case,
first we need to get in line. Then I'll explain.

Tsukasa: Uh - please waaaaaaiiiiiii (is lost in the crowd)

Kagami: There's nothing I can do here. Tsukasa, hurry along.
 Wait, where is Tsukasa?

Tsukasa: Oneechan! Kona-chan! Hellpppp meeeeeee! [is pushed
 around by the crowd]

Kagami: She's being carried away by a wave of people!

Konata: She doesn't have much war potential.

[The convention center's PA system chime rings.]

Event Staff: (over intercom) When you arrive at the circle number,
 ask for everything.

Kagami: Even if she says that, I don't get it. What are we supposed to do?

Tsukasa: Oneechan, could this possibly be the line for the next circle?

Kagami: Oh no, how many minutes are we going to be waiting in line?

 Tsukasa: Maybe thirty minutes?

Kagami: No, this is going to take longer. How are we going to kill time while
 we wait?

Tsukasa: We can pretend that it's a line for an attraction at a theme park.

Kagami: You can have fun even while you wait at a theme park, but there's
 nothing exciting or refreshing here.

Konata: Lining up, buying the books, bringing them home, and reading them
there is plenty exciting and refreshing.

Kagami: But we don't read those! W-why are you here?

Konata: Because I have to line up for a different circle next to you.
I'll count on you to take care of things over here.

Kagami: One next to us? Oh no, that one's even longer!

Konata: Yeah, that one's for a stage event.

 Kagami: A stage event?

Konata: Yup. Comptic's personality for Lucky Channel, Kogami Akira,
is coming here. I really want to see that, so I'll be counting on you to wait
 in line.

Kagami: Who is that? W-wait! Stand in this line yourself!

Event Staff: Sorry, but this line extends outside.

Tsukasa: Oneechan, the staff are telling us that we need to go to the end of the
 line outside.

Kagami: OUTSIDE!? We have to line up OUTSIDE!?

Konata: Oh, that's pretty ordinary for these kinds of things. Good luck!

Kagami: This is bizarre! This place is bizarre!

 Tsukasa: (nervous laughter)

[Later, the group is walking outside of the con building.]

Konata: I made it! Thank you both! You worked hard!

Kagami: Talking about going home . . . that would be a miracle
  (tired, weak, crazy laughter)

Tsukasa: Oh, my feet . . . My feet are dragging.

Konata: Seriously, thanks. Thanks to you both, summer was very fun.
This will become a great memory. No doubt about it.

Kagami: (out of it) Oh, that's good. (returning to reality) But for us, it was a
 nightmare. The worst thing.

 [Miyuki walks up to them.]

Miyuki: Hello, everybody. Why are you carrying such heavy bags?

Kagami: Miyuki! Why did you come here wearing a yukata?

 Tsukasa: It looks so pretty.

Miyuki: Thank you. I am going with my family to a fireworks festival.

 Kagami: (sparkly eyes) Fireworks . . .

Miyuki: Hmm. Would you like to accompany me to the event?

Kagami: (waterfalls erupt from her eyes) This is it! This is the best! We need
 ordinary memories!

 Tsukasa: I'm sorry, Yuki-chan. I don't think we can . . . move.

[Kagami and Tsukasa wobble and fall over.]

 Miyuki: Kagami-san? Tsukasa-san? Hold on!

Konata: Oh, Miyuki-san. Just let them rest.

Kagami: (revives and hits Konata) I DON'T WANT TO HEAR THAT FROM YOU!
 (continues to hit Konata)

   END PART ONE
