This is a translation/summary for the Lucky Star Drama CD - Summer, ComiFes, Lucky Star.
If you enjoy this, I strongly encourage you to buy the CD for yourself, which you can do
via Amazon.co.jp here.

I have long been a fan of Matsuki Miyu and her work. One of the main points of focus
for this site is TYPE-MOON and their projects. Matsuki Miyu provided the voice of Hisui (Melty Blood)
and Sapphire (Fate Kaleid Prisma Illya), and her passing has affected us all deeply. I want to translate
something she's done that hasn't received much attention in the west. This will serve as a tribute
to her and as something I can give back to her fans.

As usual: this translation is copyright 2015 by heavens-feel.com .
Feel free to link to it on your site, but don't host it there.
If you look down, you'll see an embedded youtube video and a script for it underneath
the video. To use this translation, start the youtube video and then use the scroll bar
on the right of the script to scroll down as necessary. As more parts of the cd are
translated, different links will open to the other sections. If you want to see other
translations, there's a link at the bottom you can click on to see the main
section for those.

I keep in honorifics and use Japanese name order in my work. From what I can tell
so far, this story exists outside of the Lucky Star "Prime Universe" timeline seen in
the anime. Some of the events of the "Prime Universe" happen here, but in different
ways. TL Note: Patty (Patricia Martin) occasionally uses words in English in her dialogue.
I've marked these with italics.

AT WINTER COMIFES, A NEW CHARACTER REALLY SUITS THE AREA!

[Scene: a crowded area. Many people are moving about, chattering, etc.]

 Kuroi: Hey, Izumi.

 Konata: What is it, Sensei?

Kuroi: Why did I have to come to Comifes' hall?

Konata: I wanted you to. This time Kagami and Tsukasa ran away.

Kuroi: Do you think you can use your homeroom teacher like this!?
 (puts Konata in a hold)

Konata: Wait! I'll get you something you'll like, Sensei!

Kuroi: Don't say you'll get me doujinshi! And besides! You over there!
You were following behind us! What's your story?

Yutaka: I don't know why I was brought here. For starters, I'm in the middle of studying
for my exams. I don't have much time to spare.

Kuroi: You even brought a jukensei here!? Izumi, youuu . . .

Konata: It's okay! This is for her study of society!

 Kuroi: You're a devil.

Yui: (starts up her car) Okay, Konata! I have to get back to work!
Yutaka, if you start to feel bad, call me on my cell phone.

Yutaka: Okay. Thanks, oneechan. But is that really okay?

Yui: Sure. My patrol's in an area that's easy to cover. I'm on standby
 over there.

Konata: I'll count on you to take her home.

Yui: Roger that. See you later. (drives away, blaring siren)

Kuroi: (irritated) Is it okay for you to use her patrol car like a taxi?

Konata: Yuu-chan's got a weak constitution. Just in case, I thought it'd
be good to have Yui-neechan close by.

Kuroi: (puts Konata in a hold) You're adding insult to injury!

 Konata: I give! I give!

 Yutaka: What should I do?

 [LATER]

Konata: Now that's done, I'll need Sensei to move around the outer circumference
while I handle the center field.

Yutaka: There are so many people here. What are all of them doing?

Konata: I told you they were selling games and manga they've made themselves.
For otaku, this is a fundamental practice. Yu-chan, please remember this.

Yutaka: Okay. Wait, I have to remember that?

 Konata: I was joking.

Patricia: (speaking with an accent) No! This is not something we can forgive.

 Kuroi: What's this?

Yutaka: Wow, even foreigners are here.

Konata: Well, foreigners are still rare. Why is she over there screaming?

Patricia: No, it's no good! This coupling will not work, no matter how I think
about it, no no no, it's wrong!

Konata: Oh, it's a coupling problem.

Yutaka: Is this going to turn into a fight? We need to stop them!

Konata: But this is a personal problem for them. We probably shouldn't say
anything. Plus things could get bad if we say something.

 (Patty rushes over)

 Konata: And now she's here!

Patricia: Like I was saying! The uke and seme characters, and
 boizu - nyaaaah.

Konata: It doesn't match the genre.

 Yutaka: Ummm . . .

Patricia: Yes? Do you feel the same way?

Yutaka: I don't understand this at all.

 Patricia: What?

 Yutaka: But fighting is bad.

Patricia: It's not a fight! I'm just telling these people how coupling works!

 Konata: Okay, calm down.

 Patricia: What are you?

Konata: Maybe I'm being nosy. But people have lots of individual taste when it comes to
coupling. You might have more fun trying to find stuff that fits your preferences.

 Yutaka: That's right.

Patricia: I see. You do have a point there. Would you help me find some works that fit my
tastes? Thank you, thank you, thank you!

Konata: There are still many things I need to get.

Patricia: I'm Patricia. Patricia Martin. Call me Patty.

Yutaka: I am Kobayaka Yutaka. Please regard me favorably!

 Konata: I'm Izumi Konata.

Patricia: You take it and Koh nah ta, right? Although we're from different countries, we're
all animation fans. Let's have fun together!

 Yutaka: Animation fans?

Patricia: To say it in Japanese, otaku!

 Yutaka: Oh, okay. (nervous laughter)

Konata: It feels like I've tapped the flag of an amazing character.

 Patricia: Regard me favorably!

 Yutaka: Otaku? Hmm.

Patricia: First, let's go to the east hall! Let's go!

 [LATER]

 Kuroi: Oh, I'm tired. (collapses)

Konata: I'm pretty worn out too. Thank you for all your hard work, Sensei.
 Here, have some ice candy.

Kuroi: I'd rather have beer than ice candy right now.

 Konata: I can't buy that.

Kuroi: Nothing to be done, then. (munches) So what about that other kid? Is she all right?

 Konata: She's over there.

Patricia: Keep it together, You taka. The wound is shallow!

Yutaka: (stirs) I'll be fine. I'm just tired. No need to worry.

Patricia: Don't go to sleep! You'll die if you fall asleep! Death!

Yutaka: That's if you go to sleep on a snowy mountain. It's not cold here.
 It's probably all right.

Patricia: No way. You'll be swallowed up by this surging stampede of humanity.

 Yutaka: Aaaack!

[A huge crowd rushes through the area. Yutaka is swept away by the wave of people. ]

 Patricia: Oh no! Yutaka!

Kuroi: (stirs) Whassat? I heard a noise.

Konata: I did as well. I am at a loss as to what to do.

 END PART 5
