This is a translation/summary for the Lucky Star Drama CD - Summer, ComiFes, Lucky Star.
If you enjoy this, I strongly encourage you to buy the CD for yourself, which you can do
via Amazon.co.jp here.

I have long been a fan of Matsuki Miyu and her work. One of the main points of focus
for this site is TYPE-MOON and their projects. Matsuki Miyu provided the voice of Hisui (Melty Blood)
and Sapphire (Fate Kaleid Prisma Illya), and her passing has affected us all deeply. I want to translate
something she's done that hasn't received much attention in the west. This will serve as a tribute
to her and as something I can give back to her fans.

As usual: this translation is copyright 2015 by heavens-feel.com .
Feel free to link to it on your site, but don't host it there.
If you look down, you'll see an embedded youtube video and a script for it underneath
the video. To use this translation, start the youtube video and then use the scroll bar
on the right of the script to scroll down as necessary. As more parts of the cd are
translated, different links will open to the other sections. If you want to see other
translations, there's a link at the bottom you can click on to see the main
section for those.

I keep in honorifics and use Japanese name order in my work. From what I can tell
so far, this story exists outside of the Lucky Star "Prime Universe" timeline seen in
the anime. Some of the events of the "Prime Universe" happen here, but in different
ways. TL Note: Patty (Patricia Martin) occasionally uses words in English in her dialogue.
I've marked these with italics.

 FRIENDS, SISTERS, DRINKING BUDDIES

[Scene: The roads leading to Ryoo Gakuen. Birds chirp as the girls walk past. ]

Konata: Minami-san, have you gotten used to the school?

Minami: Yes. And thanks to the school, I've made a good friend.

Konata: Good, good. If it's her, you should have fun sharing bento.

 Minami: (uncertain) Yes.

Konata: I have so much fun I end up making lots of bento.

 Minami: Hmm. Miyuki-san.

 Miyuki: Yes?

Minami: Today's the day they do the health check.

Miyuki: That's correct. Don't worry. They separate the boys from the girls.

Minami: No, that's not why I'm worried.

 Miyuki: Hmm?

 Minami: Nah. Nevermind.

Miyuki: If you're troubled, ask me for help. (her boobs bounce around)

Minami: (sad) Thank you very much.

Miyuki: (puzzled) Minami-san, is there something stuck to my chest?

 [LATER]

 Yutaka: (sobs) The health check.

 Patricia: What's wrong, Yutaka?

Yutaka: They'll find out my weight and my three sizes. Just like I look, I'm really
 small.

Patricia: Oh, is that all it is?

Yutaka: You've got good proportions so you might not care.

Patricia: It's fine. Just choose the right partner and it'll be perfect.
There is a 25% chance of yuri. You've got the imouto
special attribute so you'll be very popular.

 Yutaka: Special attribute?

 Patricia: With Minami.

 Yutaka: What, with Minami?

Patricia: Her slenderness is a miracle. In the game I played yesterday,
a person proclaimed that a flat chest is a status symbol.

 Yutaka: What kind of status?

Minami: No - don't just accept the words from that game.

 [LATER]

 [The school bell rings.]

Konata: Okay, finally we get to eat lunch.

 Tsukasa: I'm really hungry.

Konata: Did you not have breakfast? Family issue?

Kagami: Shut it! That doesn't matter!

Konata: But Kagami-san, even if you don't eat anything for one day,
 your weight won't change.

Tsukasa: Is that how it works?

Miyuki: Indeed. Plus if you skip meals and then binge, you'll end up
 putting on more weight.

Kagami: It's all right! Look, I'll skip this one time.

Konata: But I made all this food.

Kagami: Damn it! This won't work with my plan!

 Tsukasa: No, that's an exaggeration.

Konata: Yeesh. Why are you making this much of a fuss over your
 weight?

Tsukasa: I guess we can't help but worry.

Konata: If that's all it takes to make you worry, you probably won't worry
how long tonight's baseball broadcast is going to last. It might last as
 long as six hours.

 Tsukasa: Kona-chan never changes.

Kagami: Yep, but you should start thinking about exams soon.

Konata: Graduation's not too far off.

Tsukasa: It's like we didn't feel it ourselves, or that time didn't seem to pass.

Konata: Our future, huh . . . We'll deal with it when it comes.

Kagami: You are such a bad person.

 Tsukasa: (nervously laughs)

Konata: It'll work out. Bye for now.

Kagami: Then make sure it works out - on your own - for your tests and homework.

 Konata: Miyuki-san, please help me.

Miyuki: Oh, right. If I'll be helpful . . .

Tsukasa: Miyuki-chan, if you do that, you'll spoil her just like oneechan.

Kagami: (rushes over) Don't do that!

 Konata: Yaaan. Kagami, spoil me!

 Kagami: Yuck! No!

 Konata: (laughs)

 Tsukasa: (laughs)

Kagami: Dang it. We have the practical exam soon.

 Tsukasa: Oh, that's right.

Konata: Not a problem. I'm good at cramming.

Miyuki: The practical covers a huge amount of material.

Konata: Then what do we do first?

 [LATER]

(Light chatter and traffic noises can be heard outside.)

 Kuroi: Hey, Narumi-san.

 Yui: What is it?

Kuroi: We haven't had many chances to appear.

Yui: That is true. But let's vent while drinking. It's just us here.

Kuroi: It's a story about those children. We're adults. We're not
going to get a lot of parts. The upshot is that as adults we can drink
 like this.

Yui: We've got it easy compared to the way they treat male characters.

Kuroi: That might be true. Still, I don't think it's good because the lack of
men makes us women go out drinking together.

 Yui: Well, that's -

Kuroi: If one of us had a boyfriend, this wouldn't happen. The both of us
are rather lonely, aren't we? (laughs, chugs her drink)

 Yui: Umm . . .

 Kuroi: Hmm?

Yui: (laughs) No, it's nothing. Oh, your glass is empty (refills Kuroi's drink).

Kuroi: Thanks. And here's payback. (refills Yui's drink).

Yui: (nervous laughter) Thank you very much! (nervous laughter)
(A weird chime occurs) (thought to herself) I can't say it! I have a commuter
marriage, but I really am married! I can't say it!
