This is a translation/summary for the Lucky Star Drama CD - Summer, ComiFes, Lucky Star.
If you enjoy this, I strongly encourage you to buy the CD for yourself, which you can do
via Amazon.co.jp here.

I have long been a fan of Matsuki Miyu and her work. One of the main points of focus
for this site is TYPE-MOON and their projects. Matsuki Miyu provided the voice of Hisui (Melty Blood)
and Sapphire (Fate Kaleid Prisma Illya), and her passing has affected us all deeply. I want to translate
something she's done that hasn't received much attention in the west. This will serve as a tribute
to her and as something I can give back to her fans.

As usual: this translation is copyright 2015 by heavens-feel.com .
Feel free to link to it on your site, but don't host it there.
If you look down, you'll see an embedded youtube video and a script for it underneath
the video. To use this translation, start the youtube video and then use the scroll bar
on the right of the script to scroll down as necessary. As more parts of the cd are
translated, different links will open to the other sections. If you want to see other
translations, there's a link at the bottom you can click on to see the main
section for those.

I keep in honorifics and use Japanese name order in my work. From what I can tell
so far, this story exists outside of the Lucky Star "Prime Universe" timeline seen in
the anime. Some of the events of the "Prime Universe" happen here, but in different
ways.

HOW TO SPEND YOUR SUMMER VACATION (AN EXAMINATION)

[Scene: The Hiiragi home. Tsukasa is currently reading a manga. She laughs.]

 [Kagami walks into the room.]

Kagami: Tsukasa, Konata will be here soon. Will you put on some tea?

Tsukasa: Sure. After I read a little bit more.

Kagami: You're getting slothful. But since it's Konata, this is probably okay.
Oh yeah, summer vacation is going to end soon. Did you finish your homework?

Tsukasa: Oh . . . not yet. And you haven't done your homework yet either, Oneechan.

Kagami: What are you talking about? I'm done with all of it.

 Tsukasa: Eh.

 Kagami: What?

Tsukasa: But you've been playing with me the entire time! Whyyyy!?

Kagami: I've been doing my homework at night.

 Tsukasa: That's not fair!

Kagami: It's perfectly fair! And it's an obvious thing to do!

 [The doorbell rings.]

 Kagami: Ah.

 [Konata enters the house.]

 Konata: Hello! I'm here.

 Tsukasa: (tearful) Kona-chan!

 Konata: What's wrong?

Kagami: This girl hasn't finished her homework. So she doesn't have any time
 to play.

Konata: Oh, I haven't done my homework yet either.

 Kagami: What!?

Konata: So I came here to copy your homework. Show it to me.
As usual, I'll be counting on you.

Kagami: So you didn't come here to play, you're only here to copy my
 homework!?

Tsukasa: Oneechan . . . can I copy it too?

Kagami: But if you both copy it, we'll be found out.

Konata: No problem, I can ask Miyuki to show me her homework.

 Kagami: Well, where is Miyuki?

 Miyuki: Excuse me. (Kagami facevaults.)

Kagami: When did you get here!? (Tsukasa laughs) Konata, this is
 exactly how you planned things!

Konata: I have to effectively use my time.

Kagami: Dang it! Why are you effectively using your time for bad things!

 [LATER]

 Konata: Ughh . . . time for a break.

Tsukasa: Even just copying makes you feel pretty tired.

 Konata: Yes.

Kagami: You guys are . . . Do at least a little bit of it, as much as you can
 do!

Tsukasa: (sits up) I'll pour us some tea. (scurries off)

 Kagami: She ran away.

Konata: Kagami is so serious. Bringing Miyuki-san here was the right decision.

Kagami: What was right about that? You even sank your fangs into Miyuki!

Miyuki: No, I was thinking of arranging a study session with Kagami-san to make
 sure our answers matched up.

Konata: And I thought I'd take advantage of the opportunity.

Kagami: Taking advantage! And if you just copy my answers, you'll bomb the
test that comes right after we start school again!

Konata: That doesn't matter. I'm great at all-nighters.

Kagami: This girl is . . .

[Tsukasa walks back into the room with a tray and tea pot.]

Tsukasa: I brought tea and cookies.

Konata: Yippee! I love Tsukasa's cookies because they're so tasty.

Miyuki: They are nice, and so is the tea she brews.

Konata: (munches cookies, washes them down with tea) This is so different
 from studying with Kagami!

Kagami: Oh. So are you going to do all of your homework yourself?

 Konata: Miyuki-san, help me please.

Miyuki: Hmm? Oh, yes. I suppose I don't mind.

Kagami: (very mad, hits Konata) I want you to realize what you're doing!

Konata: (rubs her head) Oww . . .

 [LATER]

[Yui arrives at the Izumi house, enters, and goes to Konata's room.
She knocks on the door and walks in.]

Yui: Hey, I've come here to play.

 Konata: Oh, Yui-neesan. Welcome.

Yui: You're in the middle of studying. That's unusual. I'm surprised.

Konata: Rather than studying, I've got a little bit of homework leftover.
Wait, since you're here, maybe you could help me with this part?

 Yui: Which part?

Konata: I don't understand this formula.

 Yui: (gulps)

Konata: (turns pages) I don't get this one either. Yui-neesan?

Yui: It wouldn't be good if I helped you, so I'm going to do a patrol.

Konata: It doesn't matter if it's good for me! I want you to teach me!

Yui: That won't work! You're relying on other people too much!
You won't be able to grow into an adult.

Konata: Dang it, that's a sound argument. Guess I'll have to do it.

Yui: That's right! Young people should study! But since I'm tired from
 work, I'm going to relax!

Konata: You're busy working as a policewoman. Thank you for all your efforts.
(Yui laughs) And I'd like you to teach me this part. And this part. And basically
all the parts I don't get.

Yui: If you don't understand them, write down answers that seem right.
All you have to do is turn in the homework.

Konata: Oh, that'll work. You're so smart!

 Yui: No, not really.

Konata: (thinking to herself) Although that's very different from what she
 said earlier.

 END PART 2
