I think I personally love writing TRPG material more than actually running it. As a younger Storyteller I put up with way too much - more than I probably should have, and it burned me out for a long time.

Even so, I had a fun time playing Call of Cthulhu at the Cthulhu Only Convention in Japan, which allowed me to both play the game and use some of my Japanese skillz at the same time. I hope that I can go back to Japan and participate again, and I hope they have the event in person and without face diapers.

While they may not be specced out to win, I think it's good to build characters for Call of Cthulhu that have some skill points dedicated to their own personal interests or daily needs. For example, Higuchi Sayaka in this campaign has a Drive Motorcycle skill of 25%. That won't be handy for winning any races but it is enough to run errands and get to and back from work/school everyday.
